SBI Probationary Officer Recruitment 2026 Selection Process The SBI Probationary Officer (PO) selection process is a rigorous three-phase recruitment consisting of a Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and a final phase featuring a Psychometric Test, Group Exercises, and an Interview. |

Phase 1: Preliminary Examination (Screening) The prelims are a qualifying online objective test used to shortlist candidates for the Mains. Scores from this phase are not counted toward the final merit list.

Phase 2: Main Examination Candidates who clear Phase 1 advance to the Mains, which consists of both objective and descriptive tests. Note: Marks secured in Phase 2 are crucial and carry heavy weight in the final selection.

Phase 3: Psychometric Test, Group Exercises, & Interview Candidates who qualify the Main Examination are shortlisted for the final phase.
Final Selection The final merit list is prepared by normalizing the Mains Exam (Objective + Descriptive) scores and the Phase 3 (Group Exercise + Interview) scores. The ratio of Mains to Phase 3 is typically 75:25.
